what's a poker?

oh the weather outside is frightful...

Here's the thing. That appears to be snow, right? But no no, it's ice. Or sleet. Or freezing rain. Or some nonsense. As of now we've had six inches of snow. And then it's sleeting or icing on top of it. That's not good. That's not fun.

Anyway, just thought I'd give that sweet update for those of y'all who aren't in the Ohio area, you lucky ducks.

And here's a sweet artistic-looking picture I took last week. I'm such a sweet photographer. Or something.

only two months later...

I continue to suck at updating, and that's my fault. Since the new year my schedule has gotten ridiculously busy and full. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.





Anyway, I should update the various peoples out there as to two developments over the weekend. First, Jason turned over for the first time, doing so Friday night and then again Sunday several times. I have yet to see it, unfortunately, but as I was told Friday night he was on his stomach, and while Debbie missed the beginning of it, she saw him at the very end turn over, and after he ended up on his back, he just looked really confused at what happened. I wish I'd seen it.





And, secondly, Jason spent his first night in his Big Boy Crib last night. So he's getting older and bigger, and Debbie's getting sad. He slept really, really well, too. I didn't hear him fuss at all.

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town...

Jason is getting on much more of a regular sleeping schedule, which is certainly helping both Debbie and I. We're slowly starting to get the hang of this thing.

Yay Ohio State.

If you are still interested in my poker, it's been a pretty solid week. I haven't had the time to play a lot of tournaments, which is probably just as well, but I've done really well in the cash games this week, running warm and finding a few really awful players against. That's always nice.

man, i suck at updating

in my defense, the software i use to transfer pictures onto the laptop is seriously messed up. I'll have to start transfering on the desktop, and getting the ones I really like on here.

10 days late with this post. Well, I guess 9 or so.

Anyway:

Laptop needed a new adapter as the other one died.

I finished 9th in the FTOPS HORSE last night for a reasonable score, but 1st would obviously have been much much better. I know! wtf, poker? not only that, but playing AND running good?

Jason still doesn't like to sleep at night, but we're slowly adjusting. I'm trying to stay up later (i.e. 2 - I can function pretty well on 6 hours of sleep) so Debbie can sleep in the evenings, then again when Jason finally falls asleep in the mornings. It's an adjustment, but we're starting to get a system. Her sister's in town this weekend, so if she gets really tired during the day, she can pass him off onto her.

Erm. Not a whole lot else. I mean, I can't think of a single thing that'll be happening in Columbus this weekend...

we gave jason his first bath today, as his umbilical cord fell off over the weekend. that's much quicker than sponge bathing.

he's getting impressively strong. he can keep a grip on my finger without any trouble, and i feel it. he's lifting his head a lot, especially in his temper tantrums. it's unbelievable to watch him develop day after day, it really is.

yeah, i'm a proud daddy.

i'll put a couple more pictures up in a day or two - i haven't uploaded the most recent batch yet.

it's been a week

A busy week, but a fun week. Jason is healthy - he's gaining weight again. Debbie's doing well, she's slowly adjusting to it, figuring out ways to pick up a couple of hours of sleep. Her mom was here this week and that helped us a lot. My mom will be down next week to help, but we'll have a couple of days on our own, which will hopefully be fine.

In the interim, here's a picture. We're ready for the Buckeyes game today.

it's 8am...

...and I'm blogging one handed. Debbie just got to sleep.

It's been a bit of a long nght. Debbie is frustrated/concerned. Meanwhile Jason is fast asleep in my arms as Sportscenter plays on my TV for the fourth time. I am very well informed.
